We are delighted that Must Have Bins was picked to feature in The World of Interiors ‘The Litterati - Shortlist’ last month.
Authors Ariadne Fletcher and David Lipton pointed out that;
“Where some wastepaper bins are, dare we say, a little bit throwaway, others qualify as uncontested keepers. Streets ahead in style, whether leather, lacquer, trompe l’oeil or trellis, they’re worth anyone’s disposable money – and almost too good for anything as pedestrian as rubbish.”
We couldn’t agree more! In this post, we’ve picked our 5 favourite waste paper bins from other brands in the Shortlist and detail exactly why we love them.
Hailey Basket - Ralph Lauren
"The Hailey basket is crafted using supple leather that has been handwoven and stitched by skilled artisans.”
Just like Must Have Bins, Ralph Lauren values the craftsmanship of artisans who have honed their skills until they reach the level of utter perfection. We love this beautifully formed accent for being a functional piece that will enhance any space in the home.
Fornasetti - Selfridges
We love the way Selfridges utilised an arresting design to create this exceptionally funky yet functional room accessory. Just like the Must Have Bins range of trays, this design is sure to draw the attention of any and all house guests you care to entertain.
Nina Campbell Waste Bin
These beautiful decorative waste paper baskets are made in a selection of paper designs. We love the attention to detail that goes into the manufacturing process. Each is handcrafted from board, covered with durable paper and fitted with a cushion pad on base to prevent scratching or marking of surface.
Just like Must Have Bins, Nina Campbell utilises gorgeous artist-made patterns to ensure her bins emanate quality. We do differ slightly in our process for manufacturing wooden bins as we utilise the decoupage technique of applying lacquer for protection.
HEXAGONAL BIN - The Lacquer Company
This waste paper bin has a marvellously modern vibe that’s sure to add a touch of fun to any space. We love the array of hues this range comes in and the wow factor the bins exude.
Like Must Have Bins, this Lacquer Company bin utilises layers of lacquer on paper decoupage to ensure the longevity of the piece.
Woven Waste Paper Basket - Birdie Fortescue
These stylish waste paper baskets have been handmade by artisans in Nagaland from woven bamboo. We love how the bamboo leaf fibres have been coloured with natural dyes and matched with a traditional houndstooth design to ensure they will easily slot in with almost any interior.
Those are our top picks. Which one do you like best?
Next let's take a look at the Must Have Bins waste paper basket featured in The Shortlist, as well as three other MHB pieces that we think would have slotted very neatly onto the list too!
Neoclassical - Must Have Bins
Inspired by the classical worlds of ancient Greece and Rome, the Neoclassical design featured in The World of Interiors is part of our decoupage collection. The sides are delicately hand painted in black and white and finished with a burst of gold leaf painting giving the design a stunning look.
Black Plain Tapered Waste Paper Bin with a Splash of Colour - Must Have Bins
These classic shaped plain tapered waste paper bins in black with a splash of colour on the inside and elegantly finished with a gold trim. They will bring a pop of colour and style to your interior decor.
Studded Genuine Leather Waste Basket with Brass Trim - Must Have Bins
This stylish genuine textured leather design waste paper bin with vertical brass studded detail on the front and back along with a smart brass rim, will be a handsome addition for any office or study. A classic oval tapered shape with an inner lined surface (a faux wipeable fabric) makes this waste paper bin definitely too good to hide under a desk!
Hand Painted Dragonfly Waste Paper Bin - Must Have Bins
It's easy to see why this hand painted bin is one of our most popular waste paper baskets. The design is subtle, elegant and versatile, mixing traditional artwork with a cool minimalism. It's particularly suited to eclectic modern English interiors, where refined townhouse style meets boho chic.
A graceful dragonfly and ears of wheat are hand painted in gold onto a choice of three backgrounds, a delicate ivory, pretty Eau de Nil or charcoal. You can select the background best suited to your colour scheme, whether your emphasis is on dark woods, cream or pastel upholstery or vivid colour highlights. An elegant gallery trim and circular carrying handles in gold brass set off the final design.
